2024 #WhyIRelay Challenge

Fall Events Only - August 5-8, 2024

This 4-day fundraising challenge will focus on reminding people of the reasons we all come together at Relay For Life; to celebrate, remember and fight back. The luminaria serves as a physical symbol of each person’s reason to Relay. During this challenge individuals will be asked to focus on selling luminaria and honoring each person’s reason to Relay. Because there is no perfect way to track luminaria donations, the tracking method of this challenge will be on dollars raised.

Community Relay For Life events with an event date September 1-December 31, 2024 are eligible for this challenge.

All campus Relay For Life events participated in the spring version of the challenge and are not eligible.

 

Individual Prizes

The top 10 participants by funds raised during the challenge period will receive an exclusive Relay For Life luminaria photo frame.

All remaining participants who raised $100 or more during the challenge period will be entered to win one of 10 additional RFL luminaria photo frames.

Event Categories

Events will be competing to get as many participants to raise $100 as possible during the challenge period.

  • Events must have a minimum of 50 participants registered by Thursday, August 1 at 11:59pm ET to qualify.
  • Online and offline donations count but they must be entered online by 11:59pm (EDT) on Thursday, August 8.
  • The top 2 events  will win a 10-foot inflatable luminaria bag, with a removable vinyl banner that can be customized by your event participants each year.
