Meet Our Voices

Lori Candrian

Hello!  My name is Lori Candrian.  I am a mental health counselor and I have a long history with Relay For Life and raising funds for the American Cancer Society.  First, as a spectator as my now adult children were involved through scouting and dance and then as a Survivor after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009.  With my motto of “just keep moving forward” I joined my first Relay For Life Team in 2011 and eventually served as the Team Captain for 5 years. When this team folded I immediately joined another team in 2021 because Relay For Life continued to be a passion for me.  I have served on the Event Planning Team of Brazoria County Relay For Life for four years and served in various roles including Co-Lead.  I have been blessed with so much support from family and friends over the years that I was an All Star Earner in 2019 to mark 10 years as a survivor, a Gold Star Earner in 2020 and a Grand Club earner 2016 to 2018 and 2021-2023. Most of my fundraising occurs through email and social media asks.

I have been married for 35 years, have a wonderful adult son and daughter and their awesome chosen spouses and two precious grandsons.  They are my biggest supporters!  My desire is that none will ever have to hear the words “you have cancer”.  I am very active volunteer in my church and community.  I am a THRIVER!

I am honored to be a member of Voices of Hope Spring Class of 2024.  I am excited about the opportunity to share more about my cancer journey and passion for supporting the American Cancer Society and all the wonderful resources they provide in helping those battling cancer to “just keep moving forward”.
