Faculty Advisor Checklist
Make Sure To Do The Following When Preparing For Your Event Season!
- Reserve Event Date with School
- Send Event Reservation Copies to ACS Staff Partner (Facilities Use Agreement)
- If Your School Does Not Have Venue Reservation Copies/Paperwork, Ask Your ACS Staff Partner for the "ACS Facilities Use Agreement"
- Act as Mediator between ACS Staff Partner and School Administration to Ensure any Required Insurance Policies are Retrieved
- Recruit Fellow Teachers and Administrators to Start Their Own RFL Team
- Oversee Fundraising Ideas and Logistics to Ensure They Follow School Policies
- Monitor Budgeting and Expenses to Keep Event on Track to Hit Fundraising Goal
- Check In with Student Events Leads Often to Pulse Check on Responsibilities
- Guide Event Leads to Delgate Responsibilities when they are overwhelmed
- Ensure Members of the Public are allowed at your RFL Event. (If the yare not, please advise your ACS Staff Partner to Update the Event Website)
High School Specific Tasks
- Create a Parent Committee
- Assist in emailing parents to ask for chaperones on Relay-Day
- Sign the HSAC Staff & Advisor Partnership Agreement
- Ensure all students have filled out their Youth Participation Waiver prior to Relay-Day (Ask your ACS Staff Partner for updates on which stuent need to still fill it out)
- Ask the Parent Booster Club or PTA to allow students to present Relay For Life volunteer roles during a meeting
Collegiate Specific Tasks
- Create a Relay team for Faculty or Department at your school
- Aid in finding contacts for the Team Recruitment Chairs to make connections with other departments (for new Relay teams or speakers at event-day Ceremonies)
