A car wash fundraiser is a simple, high-energy way to raise money. Gather volunteers, choose a busy location with access to water, and set a date and time. Advertise on social media, hang signs nearby, and offer washes for a suggested donation—or let supporters give what they can. All you need are buckets, soap, sponges, towels, and plenty of enthusiasm. As cars roll through, volunteers wash, rinse, dry, and repeat!

Things to Consider

  • Try to pick a day where the weather is warm and clear to maximize the number of cars willing to stop. It may be a good idea to have a rain date in mind when planning in case the weather is not ideal on your initial date.
  • Banks on the weekends are a good place to ask to be the host site since they are normally closed those days!
  • Make sure your location has access to water!
