Relay For Life First Lap 2025
Join us on January 11, 2025 as we kick off the 2025 Relay For Life year with #RelayFirstLap.
What is #RelayFirstLap?
#RelayFirstLap started with one volunteer’s vision to renew his commitment to Relay For Life and encouraged others to join him. Since then, Joe Gillette’s vision has spread globally and on the first Saturday of the New Year, Relayers worldwide take their first lap of the year together. We invite everyone to continue Joe’s vision and take your first steps of the season with us on January 11, and register for your local 2025 Relay For Life event!
In 2025, we will also be celebrating 40 Years of Relay For Life Impact. Graphics and resources for the 2025 #RelayFirstLap will include 40 Years of Impact messaging.
What to Expect
We encourage each Relay For Life community to host their own RelayFirstLap, whether on January 11 or another time in January. Post your #RelayFirstLap photos on Facebook and tag @RelayFirstLap!
For our Campus Relay For Life events, we encourage you to use #RelayFirstLap in one of two ways:
- Host a #RelayFirstLap as part of your first spring semester tabling.
- Host a virtual #RelayFirstLap for your students by having them share their “lap” on social media regardless of where they are on January 11.
For community events, we will also have our 2024 #RelayFirstLap Registration Challenge on January 11-February 7. More details coming soon!
