Fund The Mission (FTM) is an yearly event for college and high school students across the country to come together in friendly competition to not only fundraise the most money but contribute to the American Cancer Society’s mission to end cancer for everyone as we know it! Help us fund our future by participating in Fund The Mission! 

What: A 72-hour online fundraising event where campus volunteers across the nation support the mission of the American Cancer Society. 

Where: Everywhere! All donations (Online & Offline including Registration Fees) received during this 72 hour time period will fund our future and count toward Fund The Mission; so you can join this event from wherever you are!

When: February 13th at 12:01am CST through February 15th at 11:59pm CST.

Who: All high school & college Relayers & ACS On Campus members.

  • Events/chapters that raise $2,500 or more during the challenge will be entered to win a spot to attend the  Top Performers In Person Meeting in July 2024.

Fund The Mission Ideas

Looking for ideas to do during Fund The Mission? Here are some ideas from events across the nation used last year that made them successful.

Personal Fundraising:

  • Utilizing Bingo Boards
  • Emailing and Texting Friends, Family, Relatives with link to donate. 
  • Set Up Personal Facebook Fundraiser through Relay Website Dashboard and asked parents to share it. 
  • Asking Professors/Teachers/Faculty to donate. 
  • Filled a water bottle with dimes, equals $100.00

Event Fundraising:

  • 5K Fundraiser – Hosted a 5K during the challenge. Entry was $15 per runner. 
  • Incentives – Offered incentives for first committee member to raise $1,000 during the challenge and first team to raise $1,000.
  • Coin Wars Amongst Teams
  • Big Sports Game – Tabled at a sports game to get students to register and pay their registration fee. 
  • Rose Sale – Had a Rose Sale for Valentines Day and delivered them on campus. 
  • Social Media – Went live on event social media pages multiple times showcasing the challenge and giving facts and figures about programs and local researchers. 
  • Event To Event Challenge – Picked a rival event to battle against and created social content around that. 
  • ACS Ambassador – Top 4 individuals to raise the most would be the official ACS Ambassadors to cut the ribbon at Relay.
  • Showcase Event – Special event during challenge period to get everyone together such as restaurant fundraiser, paint and sip, etc.
