We are proud to announce that Rosie’s Riveters, of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Boston (Massachusetts), has been named the 2025 Nationwide Spirit of Strides Team of the Year. This honor recognizes a team that exemplifies the Spirit of Strides through outstanding fundraising, mission advocacy, and deep commitment to survivors and caregivers.
In 2025, Rosie’s Riveters raised more than $51,000, making them the top fundraising team for Making Strides of Boston. Led by team captain Rose Leonard-Flynn, the team has shown consistent growth and become a cornerstone of the Boston Strides community.
Rose’s personal survivor story is at the heart of the team’s mission. After being diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer, she relied on ACS resources and now makes it a priority to share those services with others—ensuring survivors and caregivers know where to turn for support and hope.
The team is best known for signature fundraisers like “Move for the Movement,” a dance exhibition featuring more than 60 studios, and the annual “Rosebud Relay,” where Rose walks for 24 hours alongside teammates in honor of those affected by breast cancer.
Rosie’s Riveters embody the heart of Making Strides—turning one survivor’s journey into a powerful, community-wide movement of hope.
