2025 Nationwide Campus Corporate Team of the Year: Madeline & Marvin Gussman Family Foundation

We are proud to announce that The Madeline and Marvin Gussman Family Foundation, of Relay For Life of UCLA (California), has been named the 2025 Nationwide Campus Corporate Team of the Year as part of the Pat Flynn Spirit of Relay Awards. This honor recognizes a corporate partner that exemplifies leadership, engagement, and deep commitment to the American Cancer Society mission within a campus setting.

In 2025, the Gussman Family Foundation made their largest contribution to Relay For Life to date, donating $150,000 to the UCLA event—more than ever before. Beyond the gift itself, the family significantly expanded their involvement with ACS, engaging in mission programs and advocacy, including participation in CEOs Against Cancer, California Spirit, and speaking at future events to share their personal cancer journey.

The foundation’s connection to the mission is deeply personal. After founder Marvin Gussman’s passing from cancer, the family has remained steadfast in honoring his legacy through philanthropy, storytelling, and long-term partnership. Since 2017, they have contributed nearly $900,000 to Relay For Life of UCLA and continue to promote ACS across the community.

Their impact has been transformative—without the support of the Gussman Family Foundation, UCLA would not have been the #1 campus Relay event in the nation last year. UCLA students say they “are so grateful for the foundation’s continued support.” The 2025 UCLA club included 18 students who were survivors of various childhood cancers. Those survivors shared that the Gussman Family Foundations has “helped fund research and provide support for so many like [them].” Their generosity, leadership, and heart for the mission make them a powerful example of what corporate partnership can achieve in the fight to end cancer as we know it.
