2025 Nationwide Strides Event of the Year: MSABC of Chicago

We are proud to announce that Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Chicago Presented by Lemonhead has been named the 2025 Nationwide Spirit of Strides Event of the Year. This honor recognizes a Making Strides event that exemplifies courage, hope, and community—bringing people together to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone.

In 2025, Making Strides of Chicago delivered a record-breaking season, exceeding its sponsorship goal by more than $63,000. The event is also on track to surpass last year’s total fundraising by at least $50,000, marking the largest year-over-year growth in teams and participants across the region.

Despite stormy weather during setup, the skies cleared just in time for 10,000 participants to gather at Soldier Field, transforming Chicago’s lakefront into a powerful celebration of strength, resilience, and unity. Survivors, caregivers, corporate partners, and volunteers came together for a day filled with energy, reflection, and action.

The event stood out for its meaningful mission integration and innovative execution. Highlights included a dynamic VOICES of Black Women presence with ambassador Ebonie Michelle and special guest Chris Draft, a vibrant Community Resource Village featuring six local organizations, and the unveiling of a massive pink ribbon installation at Accenture Tower to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and celebrate the event’s 25th anniversary.

From an all-female drumline at the start line to survivor storytelling, caregiver spaces, tribute walls, and interactive sponsor experiences, Making Strides of Chicago cr

eated a truly immersive and inclusive environment—honoring every story and elevating every voice.

Making Strides of Chicago Presented by Lemonhead exemplifies what the Spirit of Strides is all about: turning personal journeys into collective purpose, amplifying hope across an entire city, and reminding us that together, we can make a difference.
