Hope Lodge

Hope Lodge

What is Hope Lodge?

Hope Lodges provide free, temporary care for both cancer patients and families undergoing treatment. Through Hope Lodges, ACS hopes to increase the accessibility of receiving cancer treatment. Many treatment facilities are located in cities which can be quite far away from where a patient lives. Additionally, hotel stay may be very expensive which means that one would have to take a long trip whenever receiving treatment. To avoid these problems, ACS created free housing facilities in over 30 major cities. Also, when one receives cancer treatment, they often need special care and assistance at home. Hope Lodges offer specialized and knowledgeable care to help make this post-treatment care easier. Hope Lodges also serve to create community among those suffering from cancer. Hope Lodges are full of people going through similar journeys who can relate and help each other. To encourage this community, Hope Lodges include communal dining rooms, kitchens, and places to hang out with others.
