What are they?
The American Cancer Society Discovery Shops are resale shops that contain goods donated by the community which are then curated and sold in stores back to the community. The goods sold by these shops are all high quality and are either gently used or brand new. There are also many collectable and vintage items. Common examples of products sold by Discovery Shops are clothing, shoes, handbags, furniture, antiques, jewelry, and household items. The proceeds gained from Discovery Shops are used to further the American Cancer Society’s mission of eliminating cancer. Thrifting AND fighting cancer – how cool is that?!

How can you get involved?

Donate – In 2019 alone, goods donated to ACS Discovery Shops raised over $22 million for the American Cancer Society. These donations are crucial to the Discovery Shops and are what keep their doors open!
To donate goods, you can drop them off at the Discovery Shop closest to you, click here or ship your goods to a store by requesting a packing slip here. If the goods are too big to be dropped off, ACS volunteers can arrange to pick them up. Overall, ACS Discovery Shops are driven by donations. All donations, no matter how small, can make a huge impact.

Volunteer – ACS Discovery Shops are staffed almost entirely by volunteers. Due to this, it reduces the cost of maintenance, ensuring more funds can be devoted to fighting cancer. Shop – There are many valuable and desirable items ranging from jewelry to furniture. All products are in good condition. Remember, when buying products, you are also making a much-needed contribution to the fight against cancer. You can shop either online or at an in-person shop.
