Successful #RelayFirstLap celebration launches 2023

New Relay For Life registration challenge is in full swing.

Cancer fighters around the globe started Relay For Life 2023 off on the right foot with #RelayFirstLap on Saturday, Jan. 7. National Relay For Life volunteer co-leads Saralyn Lash and Suzy Lawrence, pictured below, hosted a short kickoff video and revealed a sneak peek at this year’s event T-shirt during the national celebration. Head to RelayForLife.org/Kickoff to get all the details, including some of the latest updates to the Relay For Life brand assets.

#RelayFirstLap started with national volunteer Joe Gillette’s vision to publicly renew his commitment to Relay For Life and encourage others to join him. Since then, Joe’s vision has spread globally and on the first Saturday of the New Year, Relayers worldwide – such as the group on Kauai, HI, pictured above – rallied to take their first lap of the new year together. New and lapsed participants are encouraged to sign up for Relay For Life and start 2023 strong!

In addition, a Relay registration challenge is in full swing with an opportunity to earn a custom event experience stipend for 31 events. Qualifying events will win a chance to have a custom consultation with a Relay expert to discuss event enhancement options and recommendations, which could be new signage and inflatables, local film crew to create local assets, interactive games, etc. Check out the leaderboard and learn more by visiting RelayForLife.org.
